Hello! I attended college in Durango, Colorado and Costa Mesa, California, earning degrees in Humanities, Environmental Policy and Interior Design. After spending time in both locations for over a decade, I returned home to Kansas City in 2008 to open my first interior design studio and retail showroom, which I operated until the summer of 2019. After ten years of operating a design centered retail shop, I made the hard decision to close the doors. I’ve continued to do design work and also spend time working on the scent & lifestyle brand my sister and I debuted in 2020 - Jack’s Daughters. I’m a devoted small business shopper/patron, I boycotted Amazon in 2018 and haven’t looked back once. I love spending time outside and generally trying to slow down. I’ve fully embraced buying less when it comes to my fashion or home decor, and generally start most of my searches for either with vintage/pre-loved and handmade. I will always push for clients to buy quality when budget allows. It’s an old adage that as a culture we seem to have drifted from, but I’m here to advocate for buy less, but better. I look forward to sharing my interests and endeavors with you here, where I hope to inspire others to shop local, make thoughtful purchases and have fun with your decor.
After closing my retail shop, I founded Jack’s Daughters with my sister, Amanda Steiner. After over five years of plugging along very slowly as a side hustle, the business is finally starting to get national recognition and can be found in retailers across the country. And because retail is in my blood, in 2023 I co-founded another retail shop, Afternoons, with Addison Ford, my design partner in crime. In the summer of 2026 we were lucky enough to be able to move 2 doors to the north into a much larger space. I was also able to move the Jack’s Daughters studio into an adjoining space, right off the retail sales floor. The whole setup is a dream and I am so grateful for our continued growth.
